As we look ahead to 2025, the Fairfield Beach Association (FBA) is redoubling its efforts to protect, preserve, and enhance life along our shoreline. Founded in 1955, FBA has long served as the collective voice of the Fairfield Beach community — representing more than 3,000 residents and 1,300 households.
This year marks an exciting period of renewal for the Association. With new leadership and a revitalized mission, we’re introducing updated initiatives — and a new website — as part of our effort to breathe new life into the organization and better serve the community we represent. Our focus spans coastal preservation, roadway safety, responsible development, and stronger relationships among residents and students who share the neighborhood.
Protecting the Shoreline
Our coastline is one of Fairfield’s defining natural treasures — and one of its most vulnerable. In 2025, FBA is working closely with local and state partners to strengthen dune systems, reduce flood risks, and advocate for responsible coastal management that safeguards both the environment and the community it supports.
Safer Streets
Safety remains a top priority. In partnership with the Town of Fairfield and the Police Department, FBA continues to advance the Safe Streets Initiative, promoting lower speed limits, improved signage, and traffic-calming measures such as the Old Post Road Buffer Lane pilot project. These efforts are designed to make our roads safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and families — while enhancing the walkable, neighborly character of our community.
Preserving Neighborhood Character
Fairfield Beach’s enduring charm lies in its scale, its blend of historic cottages and coastal homes, and its small-town feel. FBA advocates for thoughtful, context-sensitive real estate development that respects our neighborhood’s history and livability — ensuring that future growth complements, rather than compromises, the character of our shoreline.
Fostering Community and Student Relations
At its core, FBA is about connection — not only among neighbors, but among everyone who calls Fairfield Beach home. In 2025, we’re deepening our commitment to community engagement through neighborhood gatherings, beach cleanups, and open forums that bring residents together.
We’re also continuing to strengthen relationships with Fairfield University and its student residents through open dialogue, education, and collaboration. By encouraging mutual respect and shared responsibility, we’re building a more cohesive and considerate neighborhood for all.
Looking Ahead
Fairfield Beach stands at the intersection of preservation and progress. As we move through 2025, FBA remains dedicated to ensuring that our shoreline — and the community that surrounds it — continues to thrive safely, sustainably, and together for generations to come.

The Fairfield Beach Association (FBA) was founded in 1955 as a way to give Fairfield Beach residents a unified voice in local matters affecting safety, livability, and the environment. Over the decades, it has grown into a trusted, representative organization advocating on behalf of more than 3,000 residents and 1,300 households across the beach area — from Old Post Road to Beach Road and from Reef Road to the end of Fairfield Beach Road.
FBA operates as a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit civic association, which means it exists solely to promote the welfare of the community, not for profit. Our members include year-round homeowners, seasonal residents, and local partners who share a commitment to maintaining the integrity, safety, and natural beauty of Fairfield Beach. Through regular meetings, town collaboration, and community events, FBA helps build stronger relationships among neighbors and ensures that every resident has a voice in shaping the future of the shoreline.
