The Fairfield Beach Association (FBA) is committed to protecting the beauty, safety, and livability of Fairfield Beach. Our initiatives span environmental preservation, public safety, responsible development, and community engagement — all aimed at sustaining a shoreline neighborhood that thrives as both a natural treasure and a place to call home. From restoring dunes and improving roadway safety to guiding thoughtful growth and fostering stronger relationships among residents, FBA’s work is rooted in one goal: preserving the integrity and vitality of the Fairfield Beach community for generations to come.
Environmental Stewardship
FBA works tirelessly to safeguard Fairfield Beach’s fragile coastal ecosystem and advocate for policies that balance environmental protection with community needs. We engage on issues like dune restoration, flood mitigation, and the responsible stewardship of Fairfield Sound — always with an eye toward preserving the neighborhood’s character and long-term livability.
Safe Streets Initiative
Our advocacy extends beyond the shore. In collaboration with the Town of Fairfield and the Police Department, FBA is advancing a series of roadway safety measures:
- Lowering speed limits in high-density residential zones (modeled after Rowayton and Westport’s 15 MPH neighborhoods).
- Adding raised crosswalks, lane narrowing, and “Children at Play” signage.
- Implementing the Old Post Road Buffer Lane pilot project — a simple, low-cost paint solution proven to calm traffic and improve pedestrian safety.
These initiatives make our streets safer while strengthening daily interactions between neighbors and encouraging a more connected community.
Promoting Harmony with Students
Fairfield Beach is unique — a neighborhood where full-time residents and university students live side by side. FBA works proactively with Fairfield University and local law enforcement to foster respect, dialogue, and cooperation. We also promote opportunities for connection and shared stewardship through meetings, gatherings, and civic initiatives that strengthen the ties defining life along our shoreline.
